Handwoven in Ecuador

Handcrafted by artisans in their homes using heritage techniques recognized by UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

sustainability

Renewable Resource

Made from toquilla straw, a renewable resource made from young palm fronds that are harvested without harming the main tree.

The Evolution of an Icon

The story illustrates four female weavers making their journey to the peak of the mountain, guided by the oldest woman in the group. On the path, they connect with their surroundings and share valuable time with each other while weaving and passing on the knowledge of the traditional craft.

Preserving Heritage

Nathalie Kelly, actress and advocate for indigenous communities, joins us in highlighting the stories of the people behind our signature hats and La Toquillera, whose namesake is taken after our female artisan weavers.

The Original Icon

Our first-ever hat, an emblem of Ecuadorian culture and craftsmanship. We are proud to keep that tradition alive. In May, we officially changed its name from the former misnomer, Panama Hat, to Ecuador Hat to reflect its true heritage.

A Summer Icon

Light and versatile, our handwoven hat makes for the perfect piece to top off your everyday looks this sunny season and beyond.
